You’re in the right place if….

You want your free time back and want to leave the ready made engaging and interactive lessons to me!

For you, this means no more:

  • Late nights lesson planning, keeping you glued to your laptop on school nights.
  • Saying no to fun adventures on the weekend with your family and friends, who just don’t understand the struggle of teaching.
  • Falling out of love with teaching because you just can’t keep up with the lesson planning.

Let’s get acquainted…

I’m Melissa! Teaching runs deep in my family – both my parents and even my grandma were retired teachers. So, you could say it’s in my DNA. I used to “play school” for ages, pretending I was the teacher, and now, here I am, over 20 years later, still living that dream. My mission now is to share my love for teaching by creating engaging and interactive resources and tools for fellow educators like you!

Throughout my career, I’ve taught a range of subjects in middle and high school, focusing on social science. From World History and Ancient History to World Civilizations, US History, and even Psychology, I’ve covered it all. But nowadays, my real passion lies in lesson planning and design. I want to create lessons that not only spark excitement in your students but also save you precious time and energy, so you can focus on what YOU truly love – teaching!

With all of the amazing teachers and resources out there, I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for your trust in me. It means the world to me! I’ve always believed in leading through experience, and that belief has guided me to where I am today.

After spending 12 years as Department Chair teaching middle School History, I was honored with the award of being chosen as the District Teacher of the Year. This recognition opened up a new path for me, as I transitioned into mentoring brand new teachers across my district, of over 1,400 teachers. It was an incredible experience, but after five years, I found myself yearning to have my own classroom once again.

That’s when I took the leap into the world of high school education, and I’ve been content ever since. As the Department Chair once again, I now have the opportunity to support and guide eight other talented teachers in my department. And you know what? Extending that support to my online community of fellow educators has truly brought me the best of both worlds!

On a personal note…

When I’m not designing engaging lessons, you’ll often find me hiking a beautiful trail or chilling in a campground, siping from a Yeti cup filled with coffee, with my iPad streaming Survivor. The ideal mix of nature, caffeine and reality TV!
